‘Mother Of Bourbon’ Book And Tasting Tour Starts In Louisville

Wednesday, April 9, join author Eric Goodman and Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame Whiskey maker Kaveh Zamanian in a tasting experience and discussion about the book “Mother of Bourbon: The Greatest American Whiskey Story Never Told” and the Mary Dowling Whiskey Company. The book is historical fiction based on the life of Mary Dowling, a rule breaker who thwarted the government and prohibition to keep her spirits flowing.
The book tour begins in Louisville with the literary and tasting event at the Frazier History Museum (829 W. Main St.). The tasting will allow attendees to sample three of Mary Dowling Whiskey Company’s three expressions: Winter Wheat, Tequila Barrel, and Double Oak, paired with excerpts from the book that share important moments in Mary’s life from Kentucky to Juárez. Guests also receive a gift package that includes signed advanced copies of the book.
“Mary Dowling was a pioneer who refused to let anything—Prohibition, expectations or the times she lived in—define her,” said Kaveh Zamanian, co-author and founder of Mary Dowling Whiskey Company, in a release. “With ‘Mother of Bourbon,’ we finally get to share her remarkable life with the world. This is, without a doubt, the greatest whiskey story never told. I can’t wait to share Mary’s journey, her enduring legacy, and the exceptional whiskeys that bear her name with the world.”
